Wear of Brake Pads and Discs

As you use your car, the brake pads wear down. Over time, the friction material wears down, braking efficiency decreases, and you may even hear strange sounds. As brake pads wear down, they tend to squeal. This is a reminder that you have to change them.

Also, the condition of the brake disc is important. Discs that are worn unevenly, grooved or warped can vibrate and make noise when they are very hot. Using worn pads can damage the brake disc and increase your repair costs.
